Automation (Low code, RPA, chatbot, GenAI) is a core facet of our Technology Strategy, supporting our Business Strategy.
This person will have three key responsibilities within the Technology Office:
1) People Leadership – this person will lead the developers and analysts to deliver our Automation Roadmap(s), ensuring alignment to business need, delivery excellence and execution of critical change.
2) Stakeholder Engagement – this person will ensure we truly understand business need and are able to align priorities with the goals of the organisation as a whole, helping colleagues understand our prioritisation reasoning and what they can expect from the team.
3) Execution – ensuring we deliver efficiently and effectively against our Automation Roadmap(s) and in support of our broader objectives within the Portfolio – ensuring we deploy automation in the right way at the right time for optimum value.
This role is responsible for the leadership and development of each member of the Automation team. Key to this is setting the tone and vision for the team to rally behind as well as building development plans in line with new or emerging technology which will bring value to the team & group.
This role is responsible for maintaining and fine tuning the group Automation strategy. Both in what technology we should be using or pursuing, as well as proposing where we should deploy this technology throughout the group and why.
It is also responsible for ensuring all Automation platforms are stable, maintained and comply with data and security standards at all times.
Management
This role is responsible for managing the delivery of the Automation Roadmap and the individual projects within it – this includes opportunity extraction exercises, planning, delivery and benefit realisation. It is also responsible for maintaining excellent stakeholder relationships and using these relationships to educate the business on what Automation can achieve for them.
Management responsibilities also include managing our 3rd party contracts, ensuring they deliver the best value possible and mitigating any risks. As well as developing strong personal relationships with our 3rd parties.
Reporting
This role is responsible for delivering Automation Team reporting in line with our reporting cycle. This is includes keeping the roadmaps up to date, budget reporting, progress reports, board reports and team timesheet reports. It also includes individual project reporting when necessary as part of the individual project delivery.
